Welcome to Second Phase Gaming

First of all, welcome to my humble gaming-related website. I’m really glad you’re here, and I hope you enjoy the unpolished and raw thoughts and reviews about the games I’m playing, or will be playing at some point. This is by no means a professional review site, since I’m the writer, editor and quality assurance all in one.

The goal of the site is simply to create a space for my thoughts about my main hobby: playing video games. I want to make this site personal and relatable for people who don’t necessarily need to 100% every game or discover every hidden secret. I certainly don’t have time for that myself, since I’m working full time and have a family, like many of you.

I’ve been playing games for well over two decades, and I think I’ve dipped my toes into most genres at some point. Eventually, Soulsborne and Soulslike games took hold of me, so those are probably the games you’ll see most often on this site, although I’m always trying to expand my gaming catalogue into other areas, and hopefully this site will give me an excuse to do exactly that.

So thank you again for checking out my site. I hope you enjoy my ramblings, reviews and whatever else Second Phase Gaming eventually turns into.

And finally, the name of the site comes from that beautiful moment when you think you’ve finally beaten the boss, only for the health bar to fill up again.
